Medical exploration & Discovery SHowcase (MEDS)

Formerly known as the Women in Medicine & Science Outreach Event, MEDS is an annual partnership between the Medi-Gators Program and the UF College of Medicine Women in Medicine and Science.

Each summer for an immersive one-day event, middle and high school students from the Alachua County community participate in hands-on clinical skills activities, tour emergency vehicles (ambulances with ShandsCair and the UF Health Mobile Stroke Treatment Unit), and explore the College of Medicine Center for Experiential Learning & Simulation while connecting with faculty, healthcare professionals, medical students, undergraduate students who are passionate about inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals.

We’re excited to partner with Women in Medicine & Science once again for our 5th annual Medical Exploration & Discovery Showcase taking place on Thursday, July 24th, 2025 at the Harrell Medical Education Building.
