celebrating medi-gators: 4 years of impact

Firstly, thank you for your participation in the Medi-Gators Program! Over the past 4 years, Medi-Gators has had the tremendous privilege of providing accessible and impactful shadowing, mentorship, and clinical skills opportunities to over 10,000 pre-health students – you being one of them!

Now that 4 years have passed since the first semester of Medi-Gators in the Fall of 2020, students who participated in Medi-Gators may be in a growth year, in a graduate or professional program, a practicing healthcare professional, or impacting people in other ways. We want to learn about where you are now and how Medi-Gators may have played a role in that!

We are seeking your testimonial, in text or video format, to display at an upcoming event celebrating our shared accomplishments. Your testimonial may be shared with our event attendees, including the UF Health CEO and President, Deans of the health colleges, UF administration and partners, and more.

Your participation, support, and feedback has allowed Medi-Gators to make a great impact on the future of healthcare. Most alumni who have participated in Medi-Gators are familiar with our Virtual Shadowing Program; however, we’ve grown to offer so much more! Incase you’re not familiar, here is a brief timeline of our growth up to this point:
– Fall 2020: Virtual Shadowing Program
– Summer 2021: Ambassador Program – leadership development program
– Fall 2022: Mentorship Program – provides structured mentorship with groups consisting of healthcare professionals, health professional students, and pre-health students
– Spring 2023: Medi-Futures – provides Medi-Gators programming at 11 (and counting) institutions across Florida (and soon across the country)
– Spring 2024: Peer Mentorship Program – partnership with UF Career Connections Center and Pre-Health Advising for peer-to-peer support; includes a Scrubs Closet where students can receive free scrubs for shadowing and clinical experiences.
